Hey Alyssa!

Great stuff so far. Looking very excellent. The one suggestion that I have is that you can loosen up the tails a lot more. Get those suckers swinging around! When I did this assignment, my tails were super tight and needed a bunch of loosening up, but nobody ever told me that :(

You are doing an excellent job so far! Keep it up and make sure and become friends with as many people as possible! You never know who you could be working for or with!!

Comment on Devastation Pose – WIP versions by Yes-Ma'am

I think your pose reads well, and it's quite powerful to look at, but it also reminds me of a scene in the second Twilight movie that annoyed me. I also think it might be a little to much. (The first pass was definitely too much...I think you've toned it down really well over your revisions.)

I find that the more subtle cues can make devastation look much more powerful. For instance, when the stock market crashes, the man who has all his money in those stocks would be less likely to curl up on the floor than just to sag, as if he's suddenly gained a great weight that he doesn't have the heart to lift. I have found that a lot of people experiencing this particular emotion do a significant amount less with their bodies. They hunch over, their arms just fall to their sides, their heads hang...it's like they've suddenly lost the will or ability to move.

Now, don't get me wrong. I think this particular pose is good, and reads like someone who's just lost everything. I can see this person in bed, in the morning, the day outside shaping up to be beautiful and the birds singing outside the window, and this guy just curled up and not having the will to get out of bed. If I saw this in a film, it would definitely break my heart. But perhaps a little more limpness would help this image. Maybe the hand on his head is just flopped on the bed might bring this across. Just a suggestion, and the rest of the stuff earlier might be something to keep in mind for the future...

Yeah, they did that for a commercial for a cruise line, I think. I found it a little funny they did it in Dallas. But it was awesome to see it in the commercial. Looked like people had a lot of fun with it...
